Web Content Developer/ Tridion Developer

Location: Dubai

Overall Objective:
• To assist in the development of a new Intranet by writing reusable template building blocks in SDL Tridion R5.
• To develop a best-practice template application to which the rest of the team can refer when developing new applications and changing existing ones.
• To design and develop reusable components in ASP.NET that can be shared by other applications.
• To develop new Intranet-based applications in ASP.NET.
• To assist in the migration of Intranet applications from classic ASP into ASP.NET.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write reusable building blocks in SDL Tridion R5
o Help the team to write and debug template building blocks
o Advise on best-practice development methods for Tridion
• Develop a best-practice template application in ASP.NET
o Recommend best design methodology for new development work
o Develop reference application using best-practice techniques
o Train and advise the team on new design and development methods
o Develop common components that can be shared with other applications
• Design and develop reusable ASP.NET components
o Advise on what sort of components are good use of development effort
o Design and development components in ASP.NET
o Document components with examples for the rest of the team to use
• Develop new applications as required
o Model requirements for new applications
o Design and implement data structure and supporting code in SQL Server
o Design and implement new applications
• Migrate Intranet applications from classic ASP to ASP.NET
o Analyse existing applications to determine functionality
o Design replacement applications using ASP.NET
o Re-engineer COM components into .NET where applicable, or interface to existing third-party components where necessary

Required Skills and Experience
• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist
• 3 years experience developing classic ASP applications
• 5 years experience developing data-driven ASP.NET applications
• 3 years experience of SDL Tridion
• 1 year experience using SDL Tridion R5 Modular Templating
• Experience creating COM components for use in ASP pages
• Experience designing and maintaining databases using SQL Server 2005
